The transformation of the Regional Pedagogical Center and the Kampong Cham Provincial Pedagogical and Vocational Training School into the Kampong Cham Pedagogical Institute

Phnom Penh: On 26 and 28 January 2026, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport organized meetings and discussions with a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) concerning the project titled “Transformation of the Regional Teacher Training Center and Kampong Cham Provincial Teacher Training and Capacity Building School into the Kampong Cham Teacher Training Institute.”

On the morning of Wednesday, the 10th waxing day of Meak, Year of the Snake, Buddhist Era 2569, corresponding to 28 January 2026, Her Excellency Dr. Khuon Vichheka, Director General of the Department of Training and Capacity Building, led further discussions with the JICA delegation to strengthen the project’s implementation direction. The discussions focused on reviewing the project indicators, financial flow, technical construction works, project management teams, and the project implementation timeline.

The project aims to ensure the development of teacher education programs under the 12+4 and Bachelor’s degree +1 systems, in line with education sector reform directions, and to build high-quality teacher capacity to respond effectively to the country’s development needs.
