History
Preah Vihear Provincial Teachers' and Vocational Training School was established on March 18, 1981 in Thanal Keun Village, Rungrung Commune, Rovieng District, Preah Vihear Province, located in Rovieng Secondary School. The initial training at that time was short-term training such as political education, carpentry skills, especially teachers assigned and focused on all educational subjects. On December 25, 1981, with the change of location of the provincial administration, the school also changed its location to the provincial capital, which was located in Tbeng Meanchey Primary School. It changed its location continuously until 1986, when the school was actually located in Andong Por Village, Kampong Pranak Commune, Tbeng Meanchey District, Preah Vihear Province, currently Andong Por Village, Kampong Pranak Sangkat, Preah Vihear City. Between 1993 and 1997, the school suspended training because at that time the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports had a policy of training only primary school teachers (12+2). Preah Vihear province did not have the human resources to train teachers. It was not until 1997 that the school resumed training according to the (9+2) formula that the Ministry of Education had set out in a separate policy for remote provinces. The (9+2) formula training continued until 2015, and from 2015 to the present, the formula training is (12+2), and from 2024 onwards, the school will start training according to the (12+4) formula. So far, the Preah Vihear Provincial Pedagogical and Vocational Training School has trained a total of 1,584 primary school teachers, 729 of whom are female, with 39 generations.
